Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Chimbo Mkononi uses a small number of them, and only the ones needed to make the site work.

1. What We Use

Session cookie. Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you would have to sign in again on every page.

Security cookie. A CSRF token that verifies forms and actions came from you and not from another site acting in your name.

Cart storage. If you add items to your cart before signing in, the cart is held against your browsing session so it is still there when you sign in.

Preferences. Your language choice (English or Kiswahili) and light or dark theme, so the site opens the way you left it.

2. What We Do Not Use

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell browsing data. We do not run third party ad trackers on the storefront.

3. Managing Cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session and security cookies will stop you from signing in or placing an order, because those two are required for the site to function.

4. The Mobile App

The Chimbo Mkononi app does not use browser cookies. It stores your sign-in token and preferences locally on your device, and you can remove them by signing out or uninstalling the app.
